STATEMENT FROM SUPERVISOR GEORGE HOEHMANN ON END OF CONGESTION PRICING:
“As many people know, Governor Kathy Hochul and New York City politicians, without concern for visitors to the city, passed legislation creating congestion toll pricing that charged $9.00 to anyone visiting Manhattan traveling below 65th Street. This served as a de facto tax on visitors, particularly impacting Clarkstown and Rockland residents who drove into Manhattan. We already have a significant value gap where we pay more into the MTA than we receive back and I am delighted that President Trump has withdrawn federal support for this unfair fee, which has directly affected the pockets of everyday New Yorkers and Rocklanders.”
