Clarkstown Town Board Appoints James Timmings as the Next Town Assessor
(New City) – Supervisor George Hoehmann and the Town Board announced today that James J. Timmings will serve as Clarkstown’s next Town Assessor. Mr. Timmings, who officially begins on February 16, 2016, will be taking over for Clarkstown’s long time Assessor Cathy Conklin, who retired this month. He is scheduled to be voted on by the Town Board at the February 9, 2016 Town Board meeting.
An appraiser for 25 years, Mr. Timmings then went on to serve as the Assessor for the Town of Mount Pleasant, NY for nearly 15 years. Mr. Timmings is a State certified Assessor and certified General Real Estate Appraiser with broad experience in the field of real estate evaluation on an individual and mass appraisal basis.
“Cathy Conklin is a renowned, recognized, and respected Assessor in our State, and will be missed,” said Supervisor George Hoehmann. “In Jim Timmings, I know we have found someone who has the experience, knowledge, and professionalism which the Town of Clarkstown Assessor’s Office is known for.”
Mr. Timmings is familiar with the public sector having been the Real Property Appraiser for the Town of Eastchester, as well as the previously mentioned post as Assessor the Town of Mount Pleasant, NY. In addition to his public sector experience, Mr. Timmings has been successful in the private sector, serving as a self-employed Real Estate Appraiser, as well as a Staff Appraiser for Epic Appraisals and Classic Appraisals.
