Supervisor George Hoehmann Recognizes Local WW II Veterans
(New City, NY) – On Sunday, August 28, 2016, Supervisor George Hoehmann was invited to attend the Rockland County Office of Veterans Affairs ceremony celebrating the 71st anniversary of signing the treaty to end WW II on September 2nd.
The ceremony was held at Clarkstown Town Hall and recognized 57 local WW II Veterans for their service to our great nation. Supervisor Hoehmann and Councilwoman Adrienne Carey joined County Executive Ed Day, Assemblywoman Ellen Jaffee, and Director of Veterans Affairs, Jerry Donnellan at the ceremony.
“It was a privilege to honor the service, courage, and most of all sacrifice of 57 World War II veterans here at Clarkstown Town Hall,” said Supervisor George Hoehmann. “The dedication of these brave men and women to our country is commendable and will never be forgotten. It was an honor to participate in this ceremony.”
